African Radio Ministries exists to glorify God through mass media. ARM is depopulating hell and populating heaven in Ethiopia, Liberia and surrounding nations through Lutheran worship services on the radio.
The programs are designed to encourage listening groups that eventually become church plants, especially in remote, outlying areas where it would be difficult to support a pastor. These church plants in turn evangelize neighboring communities creating a multiplication of disciples for Christ.

Lutheran Radio Worship |
Prison Ministry |
In January, 2005 African Radio Ministries (ARM) began broadcasting weekly Lutheran worship programs in Africa. We are currently aimed at two regions:
In Liberia, programs are produced and broadcasted from four different counties in four languages: Kissi, Kpelle, Krahn and Loma. In Ethiopia, programs are produced in the Addis Ababa office then broadcast from South Africa. They are offered in two languages, Amharic and Oromifa . In 2016, there were 51 church plants recorded through ARM listener groups. Listeners make contact the ARM staff at these offices to learn more about what it means to follow Christ. |
It was a surprise to receive so many letters and calls from Ethiopian prisons, sometimes as many as two hundred in a single month. Prisoners request teaching, Bibles, baptism and prayer. To respond to this opportunity, ARM employed a full-time prison ministry coordinator, Rev Demeke Botamo Ture, who encourages local congregations to visit and minister to prisoners. ARM supplies training, Bibles, transportation and prisoner relief aid.
Recently, In June 2017, the Prison Program reported 102 new converts are now attending confirmation classes. In May, there were more than 50 baptisms. |
